  1. Up, Down, Up

    Saturday, September 12, 2020

If you need your spirits uplifted, this will do it (99% sure).  It's about 2 minutes.

    https://www.facebook.com/IceTheatreOfNewYork/videos/327790138350582/UzpfSTEwMDAwMDQ1NjcxMjU5ODo0NjgzODM0MjgxNjQxNzQ5/

I watched it 4 times because it made me feel good.  I hope it does so for all of you as well.

I’ve unfortunately known Trump-ish types in my life.  I think Trump should write a book he could write all on his own – The Art of the Lie.  The forward can be written by a number of candidates I know whose first language is lying.

Most of you know, besides comedy material, I also write memoir and poetry.  I rarely write in rhyme, but occasionally I like to play with that.  Here’s a recent poem that does use rhyme.

    VOTE!

    We can vote

    without getting sick

    No doctor’s note

    to mail our pick

    Risky though …

    could end in a dump

    if we don’t show

    it’s a vote for Trump

    He hates women, blacks

    immigrants and Jews

    More than that

    he hates to lose

When hurt people lootin’ is worse than militia shootin’

no one’s happier than Trump and Putin

  2. Not to Ruin a Beautiful Day

    Tuesday, August 25, 2020

I had a different and much needed day yesterday (Monday).  My buddy/best friend/unofficially adopted brother decided to get me out of my apartment and get me moving.  We’ve begun to ride in his car together recently after lots of isolating.  He removed any financial obstacles – treated me to brunch and dinner and brought other treats.  We went up to a park in Tarrytown where there was a stream.  We enjoyed being outdoors, in nature, and with our feet in the stream.  The sound of the water running over the rocks was so peaceful.

We talked, which is one of our favorite sports.  We’ve been friends for over 40 years.  It is such a pleasure to be together and talk as freely as we do.  We understand each other deeply.  It is wonderful.

A friend shared this with me, and I know you will LOVE this.  It is just a couple of minutes, and it will have you smiling for sure.  ð‘ ‡☺

I tried to watch the Republican National Convention, but the dishonesty was ruining my mood after such a nice day.  I switched to game shows and later to Mannix.  He was one of my many crushes when I was a teen.

I’ll watch MSNBC and see the clips they air of the RNC, but it is hard to watch RNC lying filth.

So much love to CGG-M  ❤💛

  3. I’m still not 100% back to normal.  But I remain grateful that if what I have is the virus, I am being spared of what so many have gone through and are going through.  I have a long-lasting cold, cough, and a recurring head ache (I was never much of a head ache person) and still can’t fully smell things.  When it began, I also had pain in my lower abdomen.  That didn’t last long, and I am extremely grateful.  Though I’m cold, I am not shivering like I did in the beginning.  It’s been three weeks so far.  Some of the time, I really feel okay.  I actually look forward to getting a test at some point for the antibodies.

A doctor who spoke on television said that the lost sense of smell usually
returns at the pace that a fingernail grows.  I was glad to hear that, so I know what to expect.  I burned incense and was able to smell it to some degree.

So one of Trump’s personal valets tested positive for COVID-19, and
Trump got very angry that it got that close to him.  This particular valet served Trump his meals.  Now Trump gets tested daily.  Doctors, nurses, EMTs, delivery people, MTA workers are still waiting for a test.  But someone who is a last responder gets a daily test.  He should go work in the meat plant to save the economy.  He can bring his bleach for lunch.

We need a human being in the prez seat, not a humanoid.

When he said that his heart goes out to the family of the jogger who was
shot and killed in Georgia, I blurted, “What heart?”

Yet another benefit of being penis-free:

    Gotta love this woman:

    Much 💕 to CGG-M.

  4. Exhausted AF By Rhonda Hansome

    Thursday, December 5, 2019

I am aware that 2020 follows 2019, but the decade's end is a surprise to me.

State and private video cameras record our EVERY movement. Our EVERY phone call, text and email is under  scrutiny AND subject to monetization by 3rd parties known and unknown. In spite of ubiquitous surveillance we are subject to DAILY active shooter alerts. Announcements of disease causing elements, in our air, water, food, frying pans and CVS receipts, are eclipsed by Big Pharma's cornucopia of  "medications" causing after effects to challenge the best health insurance. An emotional seatbelt is a necessity when modern technology moves everyday life at the speed of High Frequency Trading.

I find it almost impossible to breathe.

Barack Obama's presidency instigated a false sense of change and hope for America's future. Donald Trump's unending war on the United States' intelligence agencies, armed forces, diplomats and co-equal branches of government, combined with his disdain for the poor and systemically oppressed; have made his dank and dystopian vision of American Carnage manifest.

Daily, hourly, minute by minute and tweet by tweet, Trump's obsesssive need for attention and the "appearance" of  winning, drains the oxygen from the world. Yes the world!

World Leaders Mock Trump - Again!

Trump's compulsion to dominate social media, the news cycle and public opinion is exhausting.
His corrupt administration, self-dealing family and obstruction shenanigans have obliterated any end of decade excitement. I am too tired to look back and fear a future that needs at least 25 years to reverse the effects of Trump's American Carnage; IF in fact reversal is possible.

    Happy Holidays!

  5. Hey You! By Rhonda Hansome

    Friday, January 25, 2019

    Hey You,
    Yes, I'm talking to YOU!

This Is America 2019, dysfunction on steroids. I am living in a cartoon yet terrifying alternate universe.

United States of intolerance, elitism and white supremacy to rival our volatile 1960's.

    An America for the rich

with blatant disregard for Everyman. The TrumpShutDown has left 800,000 Americans without pay. Furloughed Federal workers are stretched to the limit. Did I mention the multitude of support businesses suffering from lack of customers? Government tasks for our safety and well being are now left undone because of Trump's wall stand off.

"The wall came about as a “mnemonic device” thought up by political consultants to remind Donald Trump to talk about illegal immigration."... Forbes 1/4/2019

All while daily the chaos and lies escalate. Is this for real?

Steve Bannon's mantra is the mission of the Trump administration:

Disrupt * Deconstruct & Destroy America

White people are going to homeless shelters for food and Commerce Sec. Wilbur Ross doesn't know why.

    45Potus to paycheckless families:
Work something out for your groceries and mortgage.

White folks get a cold, Black folks'll have pneumonia.

Must we 99% just die for the 1% to revel in luxury?
Will we reclaim the U.S. before total destruction?
    Seriously, will we?

  8. I recognize that Trump’s personality disorder is one that involves loving the fight more than the prize.  It’s not so different from parents who take pleasure in robbing the child of the other parent, fight for custody just to win, wins, and then has little skill or desire to build a happy person.  The fun is over, the fun of hurting everybody.  Now it’s just a path of destruction left behind.

Well when Trump was called the presumptive nominee, he looked pale and frightened to me.  The part he liked was over – knocking out others in a junior high bully style.  Now he’d have to deliver something of substance.  But he only has the fight, not substance.

So he creates conflict and manipulates others to act on his feelings.  In a family, children believe lies and become alienated from and hostile toward the actual loving parent.  In a country such as ours, race riots could become commonplace as he makes America something again.  We'd be in wars all over the globe.  All of it deflects the attention from the orchestrator.

When Trump decided to complain about his unfair life and named the judge presiding over the Trump U case and the judge’s ethnic heritage, my first thought was he doesn’t want to be president.  It may not be conscious on his part, but this is how he will sabotage himself.  He doesn’t want the prize, only the winning.

I wonder how long his third marriage will last.  He can chase them and get them, but then he’s got nothing of substance to offer.

He’s consistently narcissistic.  I’ll give him that.

On a hopeful note, on Sunday after the heavy rain became a light drizzle, I looked up and saw this which looked magnificent and colorful unlike the photo.  I know it is a great big sky, but seeing the rainbow above the buildings right across the street felt wonderfully personal.

  9.

About a year ago, I proudly posted on my Facebook wall how long I’d been penis-free.   Much to my surprise, many men sounded upset while I pretty much felt it like an accomplishment.  So I asked my buddy, who is a heterosexual man, why men who live far away in other states and many who are married or committed and not dating would care if I choose to have sex with another or not.  After thinking for a moment, he said that it may not be rational but somewhere deep inside, many feel that someone should be getting it.

We laughed and I simultaneously fumed.  But it validated what I felt most of my life.  It has felt like I’m expected to pay an extra tax to live on the Earth because I have a vagina.  For me, having been penis-free for quite an impressive chunk of time is empowering.

I come home and lock my door. Grateful to have some peace even if not yet enough. I’m grateful to have a place to live even if it still needs a lot more work.  I did clean my toilet today.  I finally have a seat for company.

    ………….

Big changes ahead at one of my jobs.  Can’t say I’m not concerned.  I need both paychecks.  Neither is extra.  I work hard to be this low-income.

    ………….

I applied for a couple of auditions for paid acting roles.  I don’t do that consistently enough.  So it felt good to let casting people know I exist.  There were several I couldn’t apply to because of my jobs.  Oy.

I applied to participate in a paid focus group.  If I get accepted, it means missing the poetry workshop I love attending.  It also means a hundred bucks.  I need it.

    ………….

If someone is against planned parenthood, is s/he for unintentional, unplanned parenthood?  Doesn’t sound like someone who understands what’s involved in raising a child/building a person or maybe s/he simply doesn’t care.  It is a way to trap a woman.  I know a man who impregnated his first and second wives in reaction to his fear that they didn’t plan to stay with him. Maybe he felt it easier than becoming a more desirable partner.  Poor babies, born into unhappy marriages because a pathologically selfish man wanted to buy time with each woman though he was faithful to neither.

    …………..
If you don't stop Monsanto from poisoning us, please don't tell me how pro-life you are.  If you think men should have the final say-so on women's vaginal activity, please don't tell me how much you respect women.  Be proud of who you are or change.
    ...........

When I look at Trump, I see a weak little man who is too frightened to allow another to be heard.  I am so familiar with the type.  I think his pretty wife is getting to know him too.  A friend of mine even suggested that she, like me, may create a penis-free zone of her own.

    Whether it looks like this

    or like this

it is the same shit -- not good for anyone.

Treasure and protect whatever freedoms you do have.  Don't count on anyone else to do so.  It’s International Women’s Day.

Please, vote like a woman!  Consider candidates that know they have no right to rule our bodies and lives.  Do not dishonor our foremothers who were beaten, hospitalized in mental institutions, jailed, and force-fed, and had the ovaries to endure it so that we can vote.  Fuckin' VOTE!  Thank you.
