  1. I'm looking for a stylist to do my hair similiar to the way I wore it above when I played Bermuda in the movie Pretty Woman. The red and blond striped asymmetrical cut was my signature hairstyle back in the day - when I walked into comedy clubs, folks knew my hair, my name & put me on stage. Ah, those were the days...

If /When my new "do" is finally revealed, the multi-color effect may be my very own natural black, silver & grey. In a short attention span world, I'd hope not to be seen as copycat of

It is just me going back to my future.
And I'm so excited by what is to come, because

    I'm so proud of myself.
10 years ago I promised to start a vlog = a video blog. It feels like a monumental step in my journey of self-actualization. I finally posted 10 minutes ago! I have to thank the private instagram account, @ninjabookitty, for the very1st response to my vlog debut:
    "Don't quit your day job."
Breaking News @ninjabookitty, I have no intention of quitting comedy... again. 😂 Once was definitely enough.

  2. Hair; Here; Hear

    Monday, May 21, 2018

Sunday morning after having breakfast with my best bud, I went home and did something I never did before.  I gave myself a haircut.  I didn’t see the back of my hair.  I did it by feeling it.  I’m still not sure how it looks in the back.  I have my doubts.  My hair was at my shoulders, so I cut a lot off.  I might dye it.  My short hair was so easy to wash.  What a load off.  I am still not sure if I like how I look though.  I managed to take a pic with my flip phone.  But now I forgot how to get it on the computer.  Oy.

On Monday, I wrapped a colorful scarf around my head and went to work
like that.  I still haven’t dyed my hair.  When I got home, I took the scarf off and began to like my hair better than the day before.  I snipped some more that I could see needed it.  But as far as the back goes, I’m concerned I gave myself a patch shorter than all the rest.  I think I will not cover my hair when I go to work on Tuesday.  No guarantees though.  I could change my mind.

This evening, May 22nd, I’m going to see Bronx Tales – the storytelling
event produced by Lehman Stages, directed by Dante Albertie.  It is free and at 7pm at the Studio Theatre on the campus of Lehman College on Bedford Park Blvd. in the Bronx.  This time, I’m not in it.  I’m going to watch it.  No anxiety.  I’m going to sit back and be audience.

Saturday, May 26th at 6:30 is the Funny Underground Comedy Show at
Broadway Comedy Club.  I’m on the line-up.  I would love to see you and hear you laughing.

Cheaper to get tickets on line than at the door.

  4. Spring Break(down)

    Monday, April 22, 2013

    By Samantha DeRose

I always have high hopes of accomplishing so many important tasks over school breaks, but seldom do I have anything to show for it.  Here's a photo compilation of non-accomplishments that I managed to achieve during last week's break.

    1)  Tinkle for hair.  Never a good decision to cut one's own hair, but despite past failures and better judgment, I purchase the Tinkle Razor Comb ($2 from Amazon.com).  I have not attempted to use Tinkle on my hair yet, but when I reach that perfect moment of insanity and do, indeed, Tinkle, I will be sure to create a video for you to watch.  I think I purchased this item primarily to have this conversation:

You:  You're hair looks great.  How do you get it to look so awesome?
Me:  Oh, I use Tinkle in my hair.
    Dippity Doo not included.

    2)  And while we're on the subject of hair as Happy Meal prizes...  My sister's kids (who live next door to me...with my sister and brother-in-law) also had Spring Break this week.  My sister called me over to her house to show me the "prize" that my niece receive in her "girl" Happy Meal...

I'll have the chicken nuggets with hair dipping sauce, please.

What little girl DOESN'T want greasy, pink hair extensions?

    3)  The Brady Bunch.  I'm addicted to dictionary.com and thesaurus.com.  Occupational hazard.  On one particularly beautiful day, in a moment of extreme IADD (Internet Attention Deficit Disorder), I sat on my couch and began pondering about how different life would be if the creators of the Brady Bunch had used a thesaurus.

The Brady Blob, The Brady Blob, That's the way we became the Brady Blob (with Ann B. Davis as Alice)

    4)  Shaming of the Pooch.  No explanation necessary.

    5)  Words with Friends.  This didn't happen on break.  This happened today, on my first day back to work, but for fans of WWF, you can appreciate the joy that was mine when I was able to lay down these tiles...

Peace out, y'all.  I have to finish dinner, drive a kid to practice, and get ready for Lisa Harmon's virtual open mic.

    PS... Listening to Facebook Suggestions...

Yeah, I'll have me some Greek Yogurt with a Whisky chaser.
