Hi people.  The autumn has surely arrived.  Colors turning.  Leaves falling.  Acorns rolling around.  Goosebumps rising.

When the weather went from hot to chilly, I caught a cold.  I thought that was all it was.  But then I was treated for a suspected lung infection.  The meds were causing me a lot of problems.  I won’t continue with this saga, except to say that it feels so good to feel closer to my normal again.

While feeling sick, I remembered how well my grandmother would nurse me back to health when I was sick as a child.  I hope she can feel my appreciation.  We had a very difficult and mixed relationship.  But I’m not blind or deaf to the good parts.  I followed her advice in terms of what to eat when so many things were a problem.  It really helped.  She knew her stuff.

Dance of the Word was wonderful.  The Brevitas Poetry Festival was also wonderful.

On Halloween at 7pm, I am part of This Poet Bears Watching!, hosted by Jacqueline Annette. 353 West 48 Street, 2nd floor, studio 4.  $10 includes wine, juice, and light food.  Costumes welcome!

If you feel tempted to watch a kooky, gory, inventive film where I played a prostitute and the mother of a prostitute some years ago, here’s “Hectic Knife.”
