  1. Poetry and Comedy Before 2025 Concludes

    Tuesday, November 25, 2025

Hey people!  If you happen to be in the mood for a poetry reading, I’m one of three featured poets at the Green Pavilion, 4307 18th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11218 on Wednesday, November 26th at 7pm.  This event includes an open mic where most art forms are welcome!  Evie Ivy has produced and hosted this event for almost or over 2 decades, and she is a wonderfully warm and welcoming host.  It takes place on the last Wednesday of the month.

Teaching again with such a wonderful group of students has been a happy time each week.  Again, I am both pleased and saddened that I am experienced by students as so exceptional.  I am not the most knowledgeable or talented teacher, however, I respect people.  I think not running the class on fear is the big difference along with appreciating wherever one is on their journey, and going from there.  I am working on a collection of stories of my experiences working in adult education.

If you could use some laughter (and who couldn’t), come to my “Almost Winter Comedy Show” at The Artist, 249 City Island Avenue, the Bronx, on Friday 12/12 at 8pm.  For choice of seating, arrive by 7:50pm.  It’s a space with good vibes, and you may even BYOB.  Cover $15; no minimum.  A menu of light fare and delicious desserts is available.  It’s tempting but not required.  (The way sex should be.)  A hat gets passed around for contributions, so I may pay the comics.

    The wonderful line-up:

    Jean Kim

    Ron Long

    Rhonda Hansome

    Hosted by me, Mindy Matijasevic

Hope to see you and hear you laughing!

    Tremendous love to CGG-M  ❤❤❤

  2. Comedy & Dessert

    Thursday, November 6, 2025

The show at Pangea on 11/1 went well.  I enjoy watching the show as
much as being in it.  However, I felt myself as kinda low-energy on stage.  It may have been because I was very hungry.  After the show, I spoke with some audience members who really liked my performance.  So maybe I wasn’t as low-energy as I perceived myself as being.  I’m a harsh judge when it comes to me.

After the show, most of us were still there for the photo.  Mike Hernandez Vacas had to leave before this.  I’m holding up the divorce shirts I sell.  (Was thrilled to sell one which meant I would be eating.)

My Almost Winter Comedy Show on City Island at The Artist249 City
Island Avenue, is on Friday, December 12, at 8pm.  It is $15 cover, no minimum (though you might be tempted by their menu of light fare and delicious desserts), and a hat gets passed around during the show for contributions, so I can pay the comics.  You are welcome to BYOB.  They will supply you with glasses, ice, and a corkscrew if needed.  It is a lovely, family-run performance space – very welcoming.

December on City Island is a very pretty sight.  Spend the day.  Enjoy the restaurants and the shops.  Then come to The Artist for comedy and dessert. Desserts are by Jenny's Sweets.
